It's a good book for some different sandwich /lunch ideas but it takes quite a few special ingredients to craft these meals. This is not the book to put some variety in your sack lunch that you take to work. THis is the book you need when you have you mother in law over for lunch and you want to impress her with an exotic sandwich
This is an absolutely lovely cookbook. The bread recipes are fantastic - my focaccia and white bread recipes come from this book, and always turn out great. Because it's a sandwich book, the recipes can easily be adapted if you don't have all of the ingredients on hand, but they are certainly worth going the extra mile for. The Cubano recipe is fantastic, and I find myself making the Inside-Out French Grilled Cheese every summer. Highly recommended.
This book rocks, finally a book that has flavor and not boring run of the mill flavors.I am a professional chef and these recipes impress me
Unfortunately, I can't recommend this book. Before even getting into the sandwich recipes, I tried two of the bread recipes. The cibatta bread dough was too wet, even after I added two extra cups of flour to compensate. It spread out too much while rising and therefore fell flat in the oven. In addition, the instruction to transfer the risen loaves or rolls onto the stone in the oven without deflating was impossible.
The second bread I tried was the pumpernickel, which turned out per instructions, but the final product was dense, tasteless, and too salty.
I feel that with more testing, the kinks in these recipes could have been worked out before publication. I took these errors as a sign of what was to come and didn't bother with the sandwich recipes.
I wish I hadn't bought this book, I was looking for some simple ideas for sandwiches and wraps. This isn't it!

I hate books with no pictures,I fall for its name,get that book and it sits on my shelf.However,I will use this bookjust one look at those pictures makes you salivate.Great book!
