The Professor and his rag-tag band managed to survive the attack by the shadowy cults that seek their destruction, but they are far from safe. While nursing their wounds from their terrible battle, the True Dreamer amongst them receives an evil portent, one which their enigmatic leader cannot ignore. Skyrock, their refuge and destination, is at risk, and the future of the Gray Order hangs in the balance.
Facing injuries, hunger, and the chaos that dominates America now that magic has once again gained primacy, the Professor and his group must make it to their refuge before the rival Orders can regroup. Winter is closing in, food is growing scarce, and time is running out.
Magi and Chosen must stand together again for the first time in millennia to preserve their way of life, and end the threat posed by the rival Orders. Will the work of countless generations of Gray Order adherents be destroyed? Will the Chosens' fledgling powers be enough to hold back the tide of chaos and fear that is sweeping over the land? Will Tiersyvon’s diminished powers be enough to guard them against the armies that are soon to march on their gates?
(This is the second half, and conclusion of the Rise of the Gray Order. The first novel, ‘The Phase Transition’ is also available as an e-book, and in paperback.)

Skyrock Rise of the Gray Order Book 2 eBook Ryan Okerlund
The problem of a bastion is twofold. The inhabitants build up a false sense of security as they assume the bastion is unassailable. On the other hand, the enemy take the bastion as an affront. Assailing and breaching the defenses of a bastion becomes an irresistible challenge.
Either way, honour lies at the heart of it.
In Skyrock lives the people of the Grey Order, though in unease.
Outside the walls are the massing armies of the White Order and the Black order. Normally the adherents of these two orders are arch enemies. Now they conjoin as the Grey Order is perceived to be weak. Afterwards...well, that is easy. Each will keep a reserve of combatants to vanguish the other order.
And on the ground the heroes of Skyrock has to make sure that the people will survive this onslaught. People like Martine, Samantha, Hank, Della, Helen and a couple more of the unsung.
An epic dystopian story about good versus evil and hollow triumphs.

Skyrock Rise of the Gray Order Book 2 eBook Ryan Okerlund Reviews
Careful, you may believe in magic by the end of this book. Though there were some leaps of time I found confusing, the story was compelling. I want more. I want to follow the characters, who were a living, breathing part of the story.
I got lost in these books, thank the stars I started them on my Friday or I'd be in trouble, the wife's already upset with me for wasting 3 days reading these books.
But it was worth it., I hope there's more coming.
What would you do if your whole world changed in an instant if everything you believed in was not true if magic and beasts were Among Us this is a two-part book it's too good to pass up I thought about it while I was at work couldn't wait to get back home to read it
I received the first book of these two as a freebie, finished it and immediately bought the second book. A really good take on the end of things, with magic and Atlantis thrown in. Good chatacters, well developed. Only a few minor typos. Pick this up!
I got so engrossed in this book I could not put it down. It draws you in to the world created by the Author which is something I would imagine all writers strive to do but so few succeed. This writer succeeds on all levels.
This two book series, The Rise of the Gray Order, is truly worthy of your time to read. I love an author who can carry you into a fantasy experience with multi-dimensional characters and lots of them. This ensemble of heroes, heroines and villains with their assorted family, friends and followers was totally satisfying. I highly recommend these books with but one minor caveat. Be fully prepared to navigate sentences containing extra or missing words and homophones (words that sound the same but are spelled differently and have different meanings, e.g. sow and sew.) It was as though spell check was run, but no proofing was done. However, the continuity of the story was not disturbed and I was too involved in the books to let it bother me more than slightly. Just read and enjoy!
I really enjoyed this book (2 book series so far). Lots of action and adventure. Magic & mayhem. Love it! But I gotta take away one star for errors the proof reader should have caught. They are few and far inbetween and don't take from the story at all. Just a pet peeve of mine.
I can see where some folks might not like this book because the evil character build up is weak which makes it seems kinda choppy. You really don't get much insight into them, not like the good guys. But I'm fine with that. I enjoyed the good guys and the surprises. Just wish we could have found out what Martina's Chosen beast is, but I can wait for the next book in the series. Keep writing Mr. Okerlund and thank you for the adventure.
